All details of arts and crafts practitioners, including the details of the sample photos and web pages, are extracted live as required from a Microsoft SQL Server database. The data access and search facilities were custom written to exploit the unique structure and content of the database. The content of the database is updated and maintained online by artsouth wa.

The site was launched on December 1, 2000 at a function held in the Vancouver Arts Centre, Albany, Western Australia.
